Waiting Lists
Studios are let on a first come, first served basis from waiting lists in each city or town. There is no average waiting time for a studio - it can take anything from a few months to a few years depending on what you're looking for, when a vacancy arises, or which area you live in.
Demand for studio space is greatest in Edinburgh at the moment with currently up to 4 years waiting time. In Glasgow the average waiting time at the moment is around 3 years. In other locations it varies greatly, sometimes there is a high turnover in studios, at other times studios will not become available for long periods of time.
We recommend that you apply early and that you be as flexible as possible in the type of space and location you want, particularly as some studio buildings are more popular than others.
We will be in touch every 9 months or so to ask if your requirements have changed and to update you on progress with finding a space. It is important you update us of any change in address - if we are unable to contact you we will take your details off our current waiting list.
Sharing a Space
If you are currently sharing a space with another artist but you are not the leaseholder, you will not automatically be able take the studio over should the leaseholder leave. As always, your name must be at the top of the waiting list.
Please remember that all artists on the waiting list have different requirements and if a space becomes available, it may, for example, not be ideal for the first 10 people on the waiting list. The waiting lists can also change a lot after we mail everyone to ask them to update their details.
Current Tenants' Waiting List
Current tenants are given priority to move within the network when a new studio becomes available. If you are already a tenant and would like to move studios within the organisation please complete a current tenants application form. Unfortunately we cannot offer you a new space if you are not on the current tenants waiting list.
