About
Having graduated in Drawing and Painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 2003, Michael has since exhibited in many galleries throughout North East Scotland, and is represented in numerous private collections at home and abroad. Since representing the Arts for Scotland during the Open Golf Tournament in St.Andrews in 2005, he has since exhibited in galleries in Dundee, Fife and Edinburgh, and has shown his work in London. He has a broad experience of travel, having worked extensively in both Holland and Spain, and has a studio in Newburgh, Fife. A continuing ambition to advance an artistic career has resulted in recognition from both the RSA and SSA, and in 2009 was awarded the Phyllis Roberts Prize for the most promising young painter at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters at the Mall Galleries, London.
Recent accolades include exhibiting with both the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Royal Watercolour Society in London, and receiving the Caran D’Ache Award at Patchings Art Exhibition in 2010.
