About

A love of the Highlands and Islands,imagined landscapes on the sides of old and weathered boats, reflections that distort and abstract.

Either or a combination of these form the basis of my work.

Recently my work is tending much more towards abstract, further developing the idea of an individuals imagination seeing what they think is there rather than literal depiction, I find greater satisfaction working in this manner, as a painting can then become different things to different people.

This year for the open studios, I am going to have a wall titled “Imagine” with 25 paintings, all 400mm square, in a square all abstract and based on these ideas.
