New Graduate Prize
To celebrate Wasps' 30th Anniversary in 2007, Wasps piloted a New Graduate Prize, awarding a free studio for one year to three exceptional artists from Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. The initiative was such a success we decided to make it an annual award and in 2008, property development company PPG became sponsors of the prize.
This year’s prize winners are:
- Francesca Nobilucci, MFA Sculpture, Edinburgh College of Art
- Jamie Fitzpatrick, BA (Hons) Sculpture, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art
- Rachel Wright, BA (Hons) Painting and Printmaking, Glasgow School of Art
We are huge fans of all the prize winners' work and thrilled that with PPG’s support we can give them a real boost at the beginning of their career. It will be hugely interesting to see how their work develops over the coming year.
Francesca Nobilucci who collaborates with other craftspersons and makers to create her work said:
"I am delighted to receive this award. It means a lot to me and will be an excellent incentive at this stage of my practice."
The recipients of last year's award were Fraser Gray, Jo Sykes and Jack Wrigley.
