The inherent beauty of words fascinates me, along with the fact we are saturated with text and communication in every aspect of out lives. I aim to take this and create works that will simultaneously calm and question the viewer. I often work in series with various scales and surfaces, including fragile Japanese tissue paper and robust textural slate.
Since being the first recipient of the WASPS new Graduate prize I have been working from a studio at Patriothall and also at Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop. My work spans various disciplines and I endeavour to seamlessly combine traditional methods with contemporary ones while crossing the boundaries of art, craft and design.
