Wasps/Acme Studio Residency - The Fire Station, London

Acme Studios is a London based charity which provides affordable studio spaces for artists across the capital. Recently, some members of staff from the Acme team came up to Glasgow to see how we run our organisation and to share experiences and ideas.

After visiting our studios in Glasgow and Fife, the Acme team would like to offer a Wasps artist the opportunity to go and work in their live/work residency complex, The Fire Station in East London for the months of January and February 2010.

The building is in the heart of East London,  an area which has seen a huge influx of  artists and arts activity over the past thirty years. A considerable number of  artists live in the immediate vicinity and there are a number of  studio projects nearby. Matt’s Gallery and the Chisenhale Gallery, both important galleries, are also local.

There is no bursary available for this opportunity but we  would hope it would appeal to an artist wishing a new environment and time to develop their work or who would like to make some important connections in London.
