Saying Goodbye is Never Easy
01 December 2011
It's been a week for saying goodbye. On Saturday our artist in residence Cornelius Quaback completed his residency in Glasgow and set off in his car back to Germany. On the way home he was stopping off at Chelsea College of Art to give a lecture. On Wednesday night Cornelius opened his studio to show everyone that he had met over the last two months his new paintings. They were absolutely brilliant and I've attached a photo for you to see. I always find it difficukt each year when the artist in residence leaves because we always become such good friends. But I know for sure he will come back for Glasgow International.
This week our amazing Property Maintenance officer Jurek Smernicki retired as well. Jurek came to work for the organisation initially in the short term then we managed to keep a hold of him for just over two years. Jurek was a brilliant colleague and we are actually missing him already. We have recruited a new property maintenance officer who will start in the new year.
