Two new shows will be opening in our project spaces here at the Briggait on:

Thursday 6th October between 6-8pm.

Strength in Numbers is an exhibition of sculpture by Briggait based artist Helen Shaddock. Helens work stems from a fascination and visual attraction to organised information, lines, stripes, colour and repeated patterns. Order and Chaos repeatedly challenge each other and unexpected results emerge from highly controlled, obsessive and rigourous actions.

Also artist Alison Lochhead presents a new body of ceramic and cast iron sculptures alongside collograph prints. Alison's sculptures and images are fragments of memory, experiences and forms. They are made with materials taken from the earth and in the kiln, alchemy takes place as the various materials are drawn together or reject each other, they are transformed. Alison Lochhead is based in Wales.

Both shows run until Friday 28th October 2011. The opening event coincides with first Thursday event that takes place in Trongate 103.
