Meadow Mill Studios Redevelopment Project
02 February 2012
Hurrah! Our redevelopment project to radically improve the entire Meadow Mill building in Dundee is nearly finished. We will enhance the quality of the existing studios, increasing our lettable floor area for artists by 50% to address the demand, and create a high quality working environment that artists in Dundee can take pride in. Specifically the building will provide:
• 58 studios across three floors for up to 100 artists
• An open plan studio divided into smaller, cheaper bays for new graduates
• A gallery to showcase new work in Dundee
• Better natural light, fixed heating in studios and enhanced signage
• Greater circulation space, a new lift and improved accessibility
In recent years, Dundee has emerged as one of the country’s most exciting cities for arts and culture. A big contributing factor is the fantastic facilities available – including the renowned Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, the DCA, the award-winning new McManus Art Gallery and Museum and the jaw-dropping plans for the V & A Museum. Yet Dundee’s renaissance is also down to the growing artist community in the city, not least the 67 artists and makers based at the Meadow Mill Studios.
We believe that the artists will be moving back to their spaces from the 1st April 2012. We will have studios available to rent to the registration list after this date. If you are an artist based in Dundee and would be interested in registering for one of the new spaces at Meadow Mill, please visit our studios and spaces page for details of how to apply*.

*Please note you will have to submit a complete application before we can offer you space.
