Wasps Artists' open Studios Weekend 2010

Save the date for Scotlands largest celebration of visual art! Wasps artists Open Studios Weekend is the only time of year where hundreds of visual and applied artists across Scotland open their doors to the public:

• Saturday 2nd October 2010, 11am – 5pm
• Sunday 3rd October 2010, 12pm – 5pm

Around 200 artists at 11 buildings in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Irvine, Selkirk, Newburgh in Fife and Nairn will take part this year and showcase a huge variety of art, from painting, drawing, ceramics, printmaking and photography to digital media, jewellery, glass, installation and sculpture.

There will also be two brand new locations for visitors to explore this year – The Briggait in Glasgow and our new studio location in Kirkcudbright which will house around 15 artists. The studios in Irvine have also been redeveloped and four brand new studio spaces have been created. We will use the open studios weekend to showcase all the work that has went in to making Irvine a new and improved studio location.
