Demand Mapping
One of the main factors in determining where new studios are located is the strength of artist demand in an area. We therefore launched a national survey in October 2007 to enable Wasps to build an accurate picture of the demand for studios across Scotland. Above is the response to the demand mapping survey so far (please note, if your local authority area is not included it may be because we have had no response!)
Thanks to everyone who has taken part in this survey to date. As you can see the strongest demand for studios has been recorded in Dumfries and Galloway and Stirling. These areas are now target locations for investment in the next five years as part of a strategic partnership with the Scottish Arts Council which will see Wasps expand its network across Scotland.
Please don’t worry if you haven’t yet registered your interest in a studio in your area. This survey will run on an ongoing basis so we can regularly assess demand for studios across Scotland.
