Participating in this year's Wasps Open Studios

Wasps purchased and redeveloped this building in 2004-05 with funding from the Scottish Arts Council Capital Lottery Fund, Aberdeen City Council and Scottish Enterprise Grampian to create the city's purpose built studios for 40 artists.

In April 2006, we held a joint party with Aberdeen City Council to celebrate both the building's renovation and the start of the Council's new two-year Residency programme, Beacons in the Community, based in the Langstane project space.

The event marked the end of years of upheaval for artists working in the city. Artist Stuart Buchanan, a former Wasps' studio holder in Glasgow, was awarded the residency and received a warm welcome to the city from Lord Provost, John Reynolds.

Wasps Studios on Langsatane place is in a City Centre location, right next to Union st and about 5 mins walk from Aberdeen Train station.

Accessibility

Visitors with disabilities would be able to access the ground floor studios easily. However,studios located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor have no lift access and visitors with mobility impairments would require assistance.
