The interest in ecclesiastical glass that was evident from adolescence was transferred into a practising enthusiasm a couple of years after moving to Glasgow. This enthusiasm increased to the point of making a career change when the opportunity arose. Classes with Paul San Casciani, evening classes, a part time course at the (now) City of Glasgow College, various specific classes, and a master class with Klaus Moje at Northlands added to his knowledge and experience. Stephen now concentrates on domestic, public and commercial decorative glass, including restoration.
