Including the publication Mythology of the Moment – Su Grierson and Dr Mary Irwin
Using the popular tropes of posters and a zine, which rely on the power of image and words to create a sense of immediate knowing, the work elucidates the social phenomenon of icons, myth, reality, truth and belief. It aims to hit the spots of common knowledge bringing to attention the social phenomenon we all, often quite unwittingly, are enmeshed within. Static marble busts become stories, become myths and legends and the reality of the individual life and its social context becomes lost, disputed or re-invented.
Supported by a Perth VACMA award and Perth Museum & Art Gallery.
