Wasps and the Briggait are delighted to present 'Lower Ollach', a group exhibition from Alison Harley, Liz Munro and Fraser Taylor.
Exhibition Preview: Friday 10th May, 6-8pm
Exhibition continues: 13th May - 5th June
In May 2018 Alison Harley, Liz Munro and Fraser Taylor shared a residency at The Admiral’s House in Braes, Skye, a Visiting Artist Space run by Wasps. The exhibition Lower Ollach has been developed from ideas conceived during their visit in which they worked directly from the surrounding landscape to explore the vocabularies of image, materials, colour and scale. The residency’s remote location gave a particular focus to their individual responses to landscape alongside a collective opportunity to discuss and critique work in progress.
A shared interest in drawing, which originated during their individual studies in the Printed Textile Department at Glasgow School of Art between the early 1970s and early 80s, forms the basis of the exhibition. Individual practice as artists-designers, educators, writers and curators also informs the exhibition, which marks their first collaboration.
The exhibition is curated by Alison Harley and Fraser Taylor of The Textile Collective, which promotes and develops creative thinking, innovation, experimentation and learning.
