Funding & Partnerships Support
Contract: 6 month fixed term or Fixed Fee Freelance Consultancy
Hours: 2 days per week (14 hours) or Agreed by Proposal
Salary: £8,400 per annum (£21,000 per annum pro rata)
Location: By Agreement, with a focus on Wasps Inverness project
We are Wasps, Scotland’s studio specialists. Home to Scotland’s biggest cultural community, we develop redundant, historic buildings into beautiful facilities for artists and creative businesses, regenerating communities across Scotland.
Wasps is currently redeveloping the Category B Listed ‘Midmills’ Building in Inverness to create the Highlands first major creative hub. A number of private and public sector partners have provided significant funds to help Wasps deliver this project.
About the Role
Work on Inverness Creative Academy began in 2015, and we have come a long way. We are now seeking a friendly, organised, and motivated individual to join us in supporting the transition period from capital works to operational Creative Hub, securing final capital funds, delivering on all existing awards, and engaging all of our partners and supporters in the period running up to, and immediately following the opening of this transformational Arts and Heritage project in the Highlands.
This post will be appointed as a part time (2 days/14 hours per week) 6 month fixed term contract, or a freelance appointment for a fixed fee. This additional post to help us realise our project is made possible by support from The Architectural Heritage Fund.
The post will be focused on Inverness Creative Academy, but the location of the applicant is negotiable. We anticipate the majority of the work will be home based initially, with some face to face engagement required when possible.
The enclosed Job Description and Person Specification provides more detail on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. More information on Wasps and the Inverness Creative Academy project can be found on Pages 6 and 7 of this pack.
Wasps is committed to recruiting based on merit, and to the principles of equality and diversity in our staff appointments. We highly value the benefits of having different points of view and experiences in our staff team. Accordingly, Wasps welcomes and treats equally the applications from minority groups relating to - but not limited to - race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender, age and physical limitation.
Reporting to the Funding and Partnerships Manager, the role will support fundraising at Wasps - enabling the creation of affordable studio space, and associated facilities, for artists and creative industries across Scotland. This 6 month appointment will have a particular focus on delivering and opening Phase 2 of Wasps’ flagship project in the Highlands – Inverness Creative Academy. The role will also provide administrative, communications and events support for the Funding and Partnerships Manager and the wider Wasps Projects Team.
