This is a pencil drawing of the metamorphic states of a changing city. The old world, the underworld and the overworld.
It depicts areas of Glasgow architecture that have been destroyed , taken down or left to nature, disintegration and regrowth. This particular piece shows the Steiner school in the west end that burnt down and the remains of a building, now full of wild growth and graffiti, at Govan dry docks.
I combine layers of line and structure within architectural frameworks to morph different buildings together. A frankensteining of different parts and history of Glasgow.
‘I see you falling’ represents the old Glasgow disappearing and the continual cycle of change.
