Carolyn Burchell
Paintings by Carolyn Burchell - I paint small scale works of parks, gardens, street scenes and seascapes in acrylic, gouache or watercolour. Often small figures, birds or animals are present. I am interested in fairly ordinary scenes which can appear magical to me; places which are either very familiar or I have visited and hold significance for me, and in the interior aspect of landscape focusing on plant-life, trees, pathways and shadows.
I gained 1st class BA hons and PG Dip in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art in 1984 and MRes in Creative Practices from Glasgow School of Art in 2010.
