I go out with a pencil and small notebook in my pocket and when I see something that clicks, I note down the tones, lines and words that seem important to me. To put it simply, I like the subtleties in what’s around me.

Having been trained first as a graphic designer in London and then in life drawing and painting in Scotland, I try to describe it with my imagination and hand, in oil and watercolour; learning each year how to speak coherently.

I grew up in the Borders and now live in the Yarrow valley, near Selkirk.
