Explore creativity at our Open Studios Day! Meet local artists, discover unique works and experience demonstrations straight from artists’ studios!

Step inside the creative heart of our studio block for Open Studios Day, a celebration of artistic diversity, process, and community. For one day only, our doors open to reveal the working spaces of painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, designers, and makers whose practices thrive within these walls. Visitors are invited to wander through the studios, engage directly with artists, participate in demonstrations, and experience the atmosphere where ideas take shape, from first sketches to finished works.

This event offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the creative process. Each studio tells its own story: canvases in progress, walls marked by experimentation, and tables scattered with materials that reveal the rhythm of making. Together, these spaces form a vibrant ecosystem of collaboration and independent vision – a living, breathing gallery that evolves daily.

Open Studios Day is both an invitation and an exchange. For visitors, it offers the chance to connect directly with artists, to see artworks beyond the white walls of a gallery, and to understand the journeys that shape each piece. For us, it is a moment to share our processes openly – to celebrate the messy, joyful, and deeply human act of creation.

Working side by side fosters an environment of mutual inspiration. The studio block is not only a physical space but also a shared conversation: ideas are exchanged over coffee, tools are borrowed and repurposed, and creative boundaries are constantly redrawn. Through this dynamic interplay, our work reflects both solitude and community – a balance between personal vision and collective energy.

We invite you to explore, ask questions, and immerse yourself in this rich network of artistic practice. Whether you come to discover new art, to be inspired, or simply to experience the warmth of creative community, you’ll find each studio offers something distinct yet connected – a reflection of the many ways art can engage with the world.

Participating artists are Libby Mitchell, Ewa Piotrowska-Baxter, Simon Rivett, Victoria Rose Ball, Lou Davis, Xingyu Tao, Jenny Mason, Graeme Swanson, Moray Millar, Alexander Horsburgh, Luke Vinnicombe, Sherry Wang, Allison Duncan, Martha Duncan, Jenny McLaren, Nicola Galloway, Douglas Fraser and Denise Gibson.
