Open Studios, The Steeple

As part of this year’s Open Studios North Fife celebrations, artists based at The Steeple in Newburgh are taking part this May.

2025 marks the twentieth anniversary of Open Studios North Fife, with a record 95 studios opening their doors across 30 locations over 3 to 5 May. Among those participating are The Steeple artists Cally Nurse, Liz Harvey and Jill Tutton.

Cally Nurse works with kelp and seaweed to make collages, assemblages, paper and paintings. After a career in journalism and public relations, in 2018 Cally chose to start anew and become a visual artist.

Liz Harvey is a painter working with watercolour, oils and mixed media. Much of her work incorporates natural materials like sand, imprints of shells, or leaves and pine needles. Scottish beaches, woods, plants & insects provide limitless ideas for her paintings.

Jill Tutton is an artist that finds joy in colour and fiddling with details to concentrate art onto paper and canvas. She mixes gritty problems with oversimplification.
