Wasps Private Network

  • Private Networks with dedicated bandwidth provides customers with a ring fenced amount of bandwidth that is uncontended (e.g. not shared with other building users)
  • If you are continually reaching your bandwidth allowance, Wasps will contact you to suggest a higher bandwidth amount
  • Continually reaching your bandwidth allowance will result in slower speeds.

Fair Usage Policy

Our fair usage policy limits the usage of one type of user over another at peak times so that performance is not affected for the rest of the users of the connection.  The type of user that we would restrict would be excessive users and generally refers to those who use peer-to-peer or file-sharing software.  They are usually people who upload and download very large files such as movies and music on a daily basis.  These users take up excessive bandwidth, slowing the connection down for everyone else.

If Wasps feels that your usage is excessive, we will notify you and make suggestions about how to modify your Internet usage to fit a fair usage profile or we may suggest that you move to a Private Network with dedicated bandwidth option.  Continued excessive usage may result in your Internet connection being withdrawn.

Acceptable Use Policy

Irrespective of which Internet Connectivity Product you subscribe to, our Acceptable Use Policy will apply to you and those who you allow to use Wasps Internet.
