Louise Evans
Louise Evans is an artist born in London, currently living and working in Glasgow. She graduated from Wimbledon College of Art (2012) with a BA in Fine Art Painting.
Evans’ process-led paintings explore ideas of marking time, actions and events through evolving surfaces of colour and texture. The works are made through a balance of both intuitive acts and conscious decision making. Textured, sculpted surfaces are formed through the process of reusing, layering, removing and reforming paint. An ongoing curiosity with edges play a key role in the work. With paint projecting beyond or protruding away from the surface, the works become tactile, three-dimensional entities in themselves, blurring boundaries between painting and sculpture.
Evans works at the WASPS Briggait studios. She is represented online by Leyden Gallery.
