The Briggait Clydeside Halls: An iconic setting fo The Briggait Clydeside Halls: An iconic setting for your event

Once Glasgow's bustling fish market, The Briggait has been beautifully reimagined as a unique location for a range of memorable events including large scale art exhibitions and trade shows. The Briggait's vast, light-filled halls are a striking blend of historic grandeur and modern flexibility, with soaring ceilings and original ironwork. An A-Listed landmark, this iconic riverside venue offers nearly 16,000sqft of space in Glasgow's city centre.

Hosting at The Briggait also means supporting Wasps' mission of providing creative spaces to over 1,000 artists and makers across Scotland, as profits are reinvested back into our charity.

Join us at Perth Creative Exchange for the opening Join us at Perth Creative Exchange for the opening of Sandra Junele’s very first solo exhibition on Friday 16 January (5pm–8pm).

For 'Beyond Waste', JUNELE brings 100kg of fashion waste to The Gannochy Project Space, transforming the industry’s excess into bold art that challenges how we define waste.

'Beyond Waste' presents a bold exploration of transformation and renewal through the lens of fashion industry waste. Bringing over 100 kg of discarded textile remnants to The Gannochy Project Space, Sandra Junele challenges us to reconsider what we define as “waste” and invites deeper reflection on consumption, sustainability, and creative possibility.

Using a unique sustainable technique she developed herself, Sandra transforms natural fibre fashion waste blended with an organic, plant-based glue into textured, fibreboard-like sheets. These are then shaped into striking, tactile artworks, statement wall pieces and décor, that redefine what we consider waste.

If you can’t make the opening next week, visit 'Beyond Waste' by JUNELE at Perth Creative Exchange Monday–Friday (9am–5pm) until 20 February.

🔗 Find out more about Sandra's practice and the upcoming exhibition via the link in our bio.

Opening soon at Inverness Creative Academy, 'Eleme Opening soon at Inverness Creative Academy, 'Elements of Being' by Erika Vado explores the inner landscape through abstract expressions of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, using colour, texture and light to evoke spiritual connection.

Stop by next Thursday 15 January (5pm–8pm) to be among the first to see the show. If you can’t make the opening, visit 'Elements of Being' by Erika Vado at Inverness Creative Academy Monday–Friday (9am–5pm) and Saturday (10am–3pm) until 24 February.

'Elements of Being' is a new body of abstract and semi-abstract oil paintings that explores the interconnected energies of the four classical elements – Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These forces, ever-present in nature, also mirror our internal emotional and spiritual landscapes. Together they form the foundation of both the natural world around us and the quiet, shifting terrain within.

Born in Lithuania, Erika has a BA Honours in Art and has studied Fine Art and Art History. Her creative journey spans painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and textiles, shaped by nearly two decades working in early years education. Working with children has been especially transformative, reminding her of the joy of discovery and the freedom of expression that continues to fuel her practice.

We've had a fantastic couple of weekends at The Br We've had a fantastic couple of weekends at The Briggait hosting Postfest and the GSA Communication Design exhibition at the Clydeside Halls.

Potfest brought together 70 ceramicists from across the UK, including a number of Hanson Street-based makers, under our newly restored roof. Over the course of the three days, we welcomed around 3,000 visitors, all eager to shop from the curated group of artisans.

The following weekend saw the GSA Communication Design 'WIP' showcase installed, with works from the student cohort being exhibited, including print, animation, moving image, installation and sound.

We are looking forward to partnering with more organisations in 2026 to stage events that showcase Scotland's incredible, wide-reaching artist community, and bring to life this stunning Category-A listed Glasgow landmark.
